How does it work?

How does it work?

In psychoanalytic psychotherapy, the therapist helps you understand both the conscious and unconscious origins of your present difficulties by exploring you thoughts, feelings anxieties, memories, dreams and fantasies. This process takes place, over time in a safe, confidential and reliable setting, This gives you the opportunity to see patterns of behaviour from early and other relationships find themselves repeated in the relationship with your therapist and with other people in your life, in a way that is unhelpful to you. With the skilled understanding and support of our therapist, you can becomes more aware of what is being repeated from the past, how you might leave this behind, and understand and accept yourself better. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy requires considerable time and commitment from both the therapist and the patient, but the rewards can be substantial and enduring.
