Psychotherapy

What is psychoanalytic psychotherapy?

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy/Counselling is a talking cure that explores and gives meaning to behaviour patterns, symptoms, moods and the concerns and difficulties they can cause. The approach considers the whole person, including their background, past and present relationships, culture and history. Psychoanalytic psychotherapists undertake a long and rigorous training that enables them to understand and help people who experience chronic and deep seated difficulties. The aim of psychoanalytic psychotherapy is to help you become more resilient, so that you can live in a more meaningful way, in the present, gradually engage more fully in the world and face your future more creatively, with a renewed sense of direction and purpose.
